How to Configure/Order Complete the next 4 steps to configure your screw jack. Select additional options as required to customise. View PDF datasheet and download 3D CAD models.
Select the Screw Jack Size: For power rating of selected screw jack check the PDF Datasheet of model, after you have completed the 4 steps. Consideration should be given to the following; Power rating Power rating governs the operating life time of the screw jack. Operating life is governed by numbers of cycles, frequency of cycles and length of travel. Power is a function of input torque and input speed. Column stability Column stability or buckling strength, should be considered when the lifting screw is loaded in compression and the column appears slender. The end fixing arrangement affects column stability. Critical speed Critical speed should be considered where the lifting screw is slender. Long travel screws can be influenced by the rotation speed setting up harmful vibrations. The end fixing arrangement affects the critical speed. Before selecting a screw jack please refer to the information icon. (*Nominal capacity) CA31 (*5kN) CA37 (*10kN) CA41 (*25kN) CA58 (*50kN)
Select lifting screw option: Both rotating and translating screw jacks can be mounted on either top or bottom face Mounting The structure on which the jacks are to be mounted should have ample strength to carry the maximum load and should be rigid enough to prevent deflection or distortion of the jack support members. Safety distances between moving and stationary components must be established otherwise there is the risk of the system blocking and causing damage to the screw jacks and system components. Guiding Guide systems must be employed to limit the effects of expansion, contraction and deflection. Moving parts should be guided parallel to the jack lifting screws. Maintenance and lubrication The design must allow adequate access to inspect and carry out routine maintenance including onsite re-lubrication. Translating Screw Translating Screw – Keyed
Select travel rate: The nominal travel is determined by the application Travel speed is a function of the incremental distance travelled by one rotation of the input worm shaft and speed of rotation. Having selected a travel speed be aware of the screw jack power rating, check PDF Datasheet for details, after completing step 4. The increments determine the distance travelled by 1 rotation of the input wormshaft. 0.25mm/rev 0.5mm/rev 1mm/rev 2mm/rev
Select the length of travel: When the jack is installed according to the standard dimensions shown in the PDF datasheet, the safe travel is the distance that the load moves. When the jack is installed with a non-standard closed height/and or bellows, the safe working travel should include an allowance for these features. The PDF datasheet gives details of these dimensions. Select the length of travel 50mm 75mm 100mm
