Kelston Actuation Ltd, the UK’s leading manufacturer of intelligently-designed screw jacks and custom actuation solutions, has today announced the installation of a new Matsuura MX330 milling machine at their site in Bristol, UK. The company has made the investment to help service increasing demand for their cubic screw jacks and modular system components.
The Matsuura MX330 is a 5 axis milling machine with integrated OEM automation functionality. Featuring 10 pallets and 90 tools, the smart scheduling software and sequencing control makes it one of the market's leading milling machines for unmanned component production.
Kelston Actuation's Managing Director, Darren Sell, said the new machine will help the business further improve service and delivery expectations for customers.
"We have always taken pride in exceeding customer expectations and integrating new technology like this will only help us further in this regard."
"There were several key features of the machine that we felt could really deliver value for us. Firstly, the ability to run automated production at scale. This helps us increase volume and further improve lead times on orders. And secondly, the option to change sequences at short notice. This will enable us to fast-track component changes and make order alterations faster."
"We can now run production overnight and turn orders around even quicker than before. This serves the company well for meeting current and future product demand."
